Join us for our 13th annual Earth Day Dinner celebration on April 25, 2019 from 6 PM to 9 PM at Olde Towne Carriage House! Come enjoy an evening of food and drink, a meet and greet with our resident raptors, a silent auction, and a fascinating exploration of Nature around the World!
Our delicious dinner will be catered by Classic Catering Company, with beef, fish, and vegetarian entrée options and vegetarian sides available.
Our keynote speaker is a world traveler, mountain expeditioner, and Pueblo native. Her adventures have taken her all over our beautiful planet, where she has lived in and observed the natural world for decades. Join us on April 25th to discover Nature around the World with our esteemed guest speaker, Brenda Porter!
Meet Brenda Porter:
Brenda Porter grew up exploring the Wet Mountains, prairies, and Arkansas River near Pueblo. Those early expeditions hiking, observing, and learning set the stage for her career as an outdoor educator, naturalist, and adventure travel guide.
Her first trip abroad was to India on a Girl Scouts international wider opportunity. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras, working with Womens’ Groups and teaching environmental education. She has continued to learn about nature and cultures around the world, leading adventure travel trips.
Brenda’s current passions are watercolor sketching and, of course, hiking. She lives in a co-housing community in Golden, CO with her partner and faithful Golden Retriever.
Please join us at our Earth Day Dinner to hear Brenda’s tales of adventure and support the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center’s mission to promote environmental stewardship and population health through nature education, wildlife rehabilitation, and outdoor recreation.
